I'm back and I had a blast!

So I don't have my pics ready to share since the bad news is that the hard drive in my mac died. Trav and I are planning to run in and buy a new one here in the next week so I should be up and running again soon. It was actually almost total hell in a hotel room to be trapped with my mom and grandma and no internet. I actually missed Supernatural too. I was trapped at dinner with the family.

All I can say is thank god for my great cousins and their great friends. I met so many great new people and we had a fantastic time! The night of the wedding was very fun. To start, there was open bar at the reception and at the jazz club they had once the reception ended. And the waiter kept refilling my wine glass all night. The groom had two friends fly in from Ireland that were just a hoot to hang with (and they were pretty damn cute too). I had the greatest time with my cousin, her fiance & their roommate. We all have a lot in common.

I also got to tour a lot. I toured Boston, Salem, Cape Cod, and the Plimouth Plantation.

So I'll prattle more about the trip when I can get the pics up. For now, Tage asked about: Angel, Anita Blake, Music, Nursing, Were-Animals, Writing

What can I say. After watching Buffy I totally fell for the moody, broody, sometimes evil vampire Angel. I loved the struggles Buffy and him had. I was sad when he left his true love. I guess I fall for characters that try so hard to be good when they are surrounded by evil. Oh, and he is pretty hot.

Anita Blake
I fell in love with Anita Blake when a friend told me about the series. I was actually one of those girls that had no interest in vampires. I tried to read Anne Rice and it didn't really do it for me. I read Guilty Pleasures and was hooked to this little bad-ass girl that killed vampires and raised zombies. The early books are fantastic, but now the later books are all sex and no plot so I'm getting over it pretty fast. In the early books the love & romance was great, now it's like that's all the books are. I miss the ass-kicking days of Anita Blake and hope the books will take a new turn-soon.

Music has always been a love of mine. I love to listen, but my passion was to play. Even as a kid I had a natural draw to anything musical. I used to play my aunts little electric organ all the time when I was a kid. When it was time for band, I wanted to play the bassoon but that instrument is very expensive. I started on the clarinet (which ran in the family) and then switched to flute. I loved the flute and ended up being the geek in first chair for almost all of my junior high and high school days. I received awards and made the honor band etc but was far from superior. The problem of a really small school was that I didn't get the chance to try out for orchestra. If I had my choice, I would have started taking piano when I was like two and majored in music. I still love it and took lessons again a few years ago. I still play my flute from time to time and once I'm done with school, I'm sure I'll take it up again. I can't stay away for long. I also want to buy an oboe and learn that someday too.

My current goal. I've always liked nursing for an unknown reason. I sometimes think that it comes from the great care I had when I was ill as a child. I like to help people and I love medical jargon. I regret not doing this right out of high school, but live and learn. I'm now on the waiting list and I have huge goals for this field. I plan to someday get my masters and become a NP.

My favorite movie as a kid was American Werewolf in London. I think childhood is where I got my liking for dorky horror movies. Me and grandpa used to watch stuff like Puppet Master and Freddy all the time. I've always loved were animals. I find them interesting and creepy at the same time.

This is a new hobby for me that I've kind of fizzled out on. Writing was something I always used to say I hated and I dreaded writing anything. Maybe it's because my grammar knowledge sucks and I get really picky about things. I enjoy playing around with it and I'm learning to edit better as I work on Trav's book.

Hello! Welcome back!

(Sorry, my capslock is out of control. I'm still a wee bit hopped up from tonight's episode!! :D)

Angel, Angel, Angel... <3 Mmm. "Hello, salty goodness." I try to watch Bones -- it's so nice that Angel has Shanshu'd -- but I either forget it's on or get so grossed out I have to turn off the TV.

I am so very unmusical. My mom had me in piano lessons for years and I can barely play Chopsticks. :D I think it's awesome that you can play so many different instruments. Are you good at math too?

Good luck with the nursing!

I caught Mag 7, but I did not get to watch the creepy kids last night. Trav had to catch up with the end of Season 2 and what not and I fell asleep on the couch. So after work I'll be going home to watch the creepy kids. I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so irked that I missed SPN when I was on vacation. No lap top either. *torture*

Are music geeks supposed to be good at math? I am good with basic stuff, but I actually suck at math. I totally didn't get geometry.

Tonight's episode was good. I'm just Oh Dean-ing all over the place (and maybe a little Oh Sam too). |

I've always heard that Math and Music went together -- because music is pretty much all math (I guess it has something to do with the patterns or ratios/fractions (like songs in 3/4 time or quarter notes)).

I was oh-Dean'n watching All Hell Breaks Lose tonight. I like Oh-Deany episodes.

As for music and math. I guess I don't go all mathmatical with it. You just have to figure out how many beats per measure you need to count and what the note value is. 3/4 time is a simple time where there is just 3 beats per measure. It's when you hit complex times like 6/8 (where there is actually 2 beats per measure) that you have to think a bit.

Is it time to go home yet so I can go drool on Dean :D

I don't know if the math and music connection is a conscious effort - other than, as you say, learning the beats or rhythm - but I think it's more a subconscious thing. Maybe the brain uses the same pathways? Must google.

Have fun watching Dean! I'm very, very glad that this season seems to have started out quite strongly. *squee*

I think Anita Blake would be worth it because you have 10-15 books to read before it gets a little crazy. There is some fantastic writing and great characters to explore and then it just kind of flattens out and goes all smut-for-no-reason.

I really liked the freeky little kids and how cute Dean was about possibly being a dad. Maybe that deal wasn't so great eh Dean?

What's up with Sam not telling Dean about mom and blondie?

You are so evil...I love it. You just want to see Sammy get some. Sammy love is kind of tainted you know. Every girl he gets with dies. Maybe we should send him to visit Dean's crossroad's demon?
